My Mom The Party Planner

Carol Morgan loved her kids when the were young. This blog is written by the website author, Seth Morgan, who loved his Mom more than she knew he did. Seth wishes Carol understood the emense depths of his love for her.

Somewhere around 1988 Carol Morgan threw Seth Morgan, her son, the party of his life. They had a book for Party Planning that had many ideas for big time children’s parties. Carol Morgan gave her son Seth the book and told him he could pick which party he would like to throw. Seth was only 8 years-old but he loved this idea and cherished it. He looked through the hardback book and picked “alien party.” Carol was up for the challenge.

Her son Seth, had picked one of the hardest choices in the book she had gave him. Carol understood the choice deeply as she likely would have picked the most challenging party herself. What an undertaking. The book called for dozens of toilet paper rolls to be collected among dozens of various household items needed. Work needed to begin immediately- save those toilet paper rolls people. Seth never forgot the ideal of toilet paper rolls needing to be saved for months for his party, he felt special. For you see the toilet paper rolls were to become jet packs for he and his friends. Carol oversaw the collection of these toiler paper rolls among hundreds of other items the book called for to make for the maximum amazing alien themed party. Carol was a talented artist and painter and painted for Seth’s party multiple murals needed for the kids whom would attend.

Seth remembers most fondly the alien saucer mural for pin the tail on the saucer that he and his friends played. Carol painted a huge mural of a flying saucer that was inspired by the very book she gave him and showed the way to the ultimate in alien saucer fun. The mural was probably 12 feet long and five feet high. Imagine how big this was to 8 year-olds. What a party, what a memory. Seth never forgot how his mom would plan for months for one day so he would be happy.
